Your privacy is our priority. We're committed to complete transparency about how our apps handle your Zendesk data, ensuring it stays secure and under your control. This notice explains our privacy-first approach and demonstrates our commitment to the highest data protection standards.
Data Access & Use: Our apps are built using the Zendesk Application Framework (ZAF v2). They are browser-based JavaScript apps that are hosted and served from Zendesk, in Zendesk's domain, and authenticated by Zendesk. The apps fetch data over SSL from Zendesk using the Zendesk API and display it securely in the browser. API authentication is provided by the host Zendesk app.
Data Storage: No customer data is stored by the app. All data processing occurs within your browser session only.
Data Sharing: We distinguish between two types of data:
- Customer/PII Data: We do not have access to your customer data, ticket contents, or personally identifiable information (PII), and this data is never sent to us or any third-party server. Your Zendesk customer data remains within Zendesk's systems at all times.
- Anonymous Usage Analytics: We use Pendo (a secure third-party analytics service also used by Zendesk) to collect anonymous agent usage statistics to understand how our app is being used and improve functionality. This includes only anonymous user IDs (generated by the app, not Zendesk user IDs) and references to specific app features being used. No customer data, ticket contents, or personally identifiable information is included in this usage data.
- Use of Content Delivery Network (CDN): We use Cloudflare as our CDN to host and serve third-party JavaScript libraries used as part of our apps. No customer data or PII is handled by the CDN - it only serves static code libraries to enhance app functionality.
Security: The app doesn't have access to agent login passwords or any API tokens. All data transmission occurs over SSL within Zendesk's secure environment.
Compliance with Zendesk Developer Terms Section 3.6:
- (i) Privacy Notice: This notice provides transparent disclosure of our data practices and we obtain necessary consent through Zendesk's app installation process including customer acceptance of our Terms and Conditions.
- (ii) Data Minimization: We access and use API data only to the minimum extent necessary to provide our app's specific functionality, with no persistent storage.
- (iii) Purpose Limitation: API data is used exclusively to provide functionality to your specific Zendesk instance and is never used for other customers, third parties, or AI model training.
- (iv) No Bulk Export: Our apps do not provide bulk export capabilities for API data.
- (v) No Persistent Storage: We do not create persistent copies, archives, indexes, or long-term data stores of API data, nor engage in background data collection or scraping.
- (vi) Data Integrity: Our apps do not modify API data in ways that affect its integrity. Customer data and PII are not disclosed to any third parties. Only anonymous usage analytics (containing no customer data or PII) are shared with our analytics provider Pendo to improve app functionality.
